Agreement will strengthen commerce among U.S. producers, Mexico and Canada

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA) released the following statement regarding bipartisan approval of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement by the U.S. Senate:

“This trade agreement is a victory for Illinois manufacturers who rely on strong trade relationships with Canada and Mexico, which together purchased $27 billion in Illinois-made products last year. That represents 40 percent of our state’s exports,” said Mark Denzler, president & CEO of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association. “This deal will strengthen those important ties, allowing for further trade growth while establishing key protections for American manufacturers.”
