The Illinois Manufacturers’ Association and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois are proud to announce the fourth annual Manufacturing Miles competition, a free program to promote health and wellness among manufacturing workers.

This year, the competition will be tracking Manufacturing Miles

from June 3, 2024 through October 13, 2024.

 —

Please note that there will be a registration deadline this year.

All teams and participants must be registered on or before May 28, 2024.

Teams will be categorized in five tiers based on team size again this year. The winning team in each of the 5 tiers, as well as the team with the highest participation (based on miles per participant), and the top 3 individuals will receive recognition at the IMA Annual Luncheon on December 6, 2024. The tiers will be broken down as follows:

  • Tier 1: (1-10 participants)
  • Tier 2: (11-25 participants)
  • Tier 3: (26-50 participants)
  • Tier 4: (51-100 participants)
  • Tier 5: (101+ participants)
  • Highest Overall Participation

Because categories are ranked by team size, the registration deadline of May 28, 2024 is firm.

We’ve also picked out some exciting new prizes to motivate you to log as many miles as you can throughout the competition. Once you’ve logged 200 miles (the width of the state), you’ll win a cooling towel — great for hot, summer workouts. Once you’ve logged 400 miles (the length of the state), you’ll win an LED light-up armband, perfect to keep you safe for night-time exercises. Once you’ve logged 1,000 miles, you’ll win a portable electric blender cup. Whether you log 300 miles a week or five miles a week, your health and well-being will be your greatest prize.

Additionally, we are bringing back the Best Logo & Most Creative Team Name Competition again this year so please keep this in mind when selecting your team names and keep an eye out for more information. We will also be utilizing Challenge Runner as our logging system this year so that each participant is able to log in and see their entries, totals, and have easy access to the leaderboard. Each team captain will be responsible for collecting participant registration information for their team rather than each individual registering themselves. More information will be provided upon Team Captain registration.

Whether it’s walking, running, biking, swimming, or any other form of exercise that can be measured in miles, our competition will help improve employees’ health and encourage wellness in the workplace.
