The IMA Board of Directors announces the selection of Mark Denzler as new President & CEO

The Illinois Manufacturers’ Association is pleased to announce the selection of Mark Denzler as the IMA’s new President & CEO. He will replace Greg Baise who is stepping down as CEO at the end of the year after 27 years of extraordinary service to the IMA and manufacturers across the entire state and will assume a new role with XPS, a subsidiary of the IMA.

Last fall, the IMA Board of Directors created an 11-member transition committee to oversee the process of selecting a new leader for the 125-year old organization. The transition committee’s work culminated in Mark’s unanimous approval by the IMA Board of Directors last week.

Greg Baise has provided exceptional leadership for the IMA during his years of service and the Illinois business community will be losing one of its longest-serving and most effective voices. His leadership has resulted in numerous successes including the deregulation of electric utilities, repeal of the Structural Work Act, launch of the IMA’s quarterly magazine The Illinois Manufacturer, and the restoration of the IMA Education Foundation. Although Baise is leaving the IMA, he will be dedicating his full-time energy to running Xpress Professional Services (XPS), the for-profit subsidiary of the IMA.

The IMA Board is pleased that Mark Denzler has accepted the role of President & CEO beginning in January 2019. Denzler has more than twenty years of experience in the legislative and political arenas in both the public and private sector. For the past twelve years, he has served as Vice President & COO of the IMA ensuring a smooth and seamless transition. During his tenure, he has successfully led efforts to extend the Research & Development tax credit, streamline the air permit process at the Illinois EPA, reform the Enterprise Zone program, and champion passage of the Hydraulic Fracturing Act. There is no doubt that Mark will continue building on the IMA’s strong legacy as the most effective business advocacy organization in Illinois.

We appreciate your investment and participation in the IMA.
