For more than two centuries, Illinois manufacturers have propelled the state forward and addressed the greatest challenges whether feeding the world, making life-saving products, transporting people and product around the globe, providing for our nation’s defense, or powering homes and businesses. Illinois manufacturers employ more than 650,000 workers and contribute the single largest share of the state’s economy. These makers and creators utilize innovative, game-changing, and groundbreaking processes, technology, and skills to make the world a better place.
The prestigious Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Awards recognize and honor outstanding contributions within the manufacturing sector and important partners. This program encompasses eight distinct categories, each highlighting a crucial aspect of excellence in manufacturing.
- Champion of Operational Excellence
- Community Impact Award
- Economic Development Partner of the Year
- Educator of the Year (community college, university, or high school)
- Innovator of the Year
- Safety Champion
- Sustainable Champion of the Year
- Workforce Excellence Award
Nominations will be reviewed and selected by the Board of Directors for the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association and the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center.
Nomination Process
Any individual or company may submit a nomination for the award categories. While government entities are not eligible for awards, they are encouraged to nominate deserving businesses and individuals using the form below. A company may be nominated for more than one category and the following information must be included:
- Award Category
- Name of nominee organization
- Address
- Nominee contact name and email
- Number of employees at this facility
- Identify the products manufactured at this facility and additional information regarding industries or markets served
- How long has the company been in business?
- Nominator name
- Nominator e-mail address and phone number
Please write a brief description of the reason for nomination. Highlight the nominee’s merits showcasing how they have transformed the business. Provide evidence in areas such as commercial impact, cost savings, job creation, intellectual property (500 Word Maximum).
