Chicago Members:

Chicago’s new sexual harassment prevention Ordinance took effect July 1, 2022 and requires Chicago employers to do additional prevention training, in addition to the requirements under the Illinois Human Rights Act. Under the City’s law, all employees must attend:

  • A 1-hour bystander intervention training annually
  • Non-supervisory employees must also attend a 1-hour sexual harassment prevention training annually
  • All supervisors and managers must attend a 2-hour sexual harassment prevention training annually

Jeffrey A. Risch, Labor & Employment Practice Group Co-Chair, SmithAmundsen LLC focuses specifically on the new requirements for Chicago employers.
