Illinois Manufacturers Applaud Signature of Trade Deal

Agreement will strengthen commerce among U.S. producers, Mexico and Canada

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA) released the following statement regarding President Donald Trump’s signature of the bipartisan United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement:

“This trade agreement is a clear victory for Illinois manufacturers who rely on strong trade relationships with Canada and Mexico. Together, our neighboring countries purchased $27 billion in Illinois-made products last year. That represents a whopping 40 percent of our state’s exports,” said Mark Denzler, president & CEO of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association. “This deal will strengthen those important ties, allowing for further trade growth while establishing key protections for American manufacturers. We thank the president and lawmakers in the House and Senate for working together in a bipartisan fashion to ensure manufacturing continues to flourish for generations to come.”
