COVID-19 in the Workplace: Reducing Work Comp Claims & Avoiding OSHA Violations

This concern is now magnified in light of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission Emergency Rule declaring that any COVID-19 injury or incapacitation suffered by certain workers will be “rebuttably presumed to have arisen out of and in the course of employment” and to be “causally connected” to the hazards and exposures of the worker’s employment.

Please join attorneys from the law firm of SmithAmundsen LLC as they present the latest on these converging issues and identify proactive measures employers can take now to 1) diminish the spread or transmission of COVID-19 in the workplace per the latest CDC guidelines, 2) create new rules, processes and procedures to implement in order to help reduce work comp claims being filed or successfully pursued, and 3) avoid OSHA violations. The main take away from this timely webinar will be centered around what employers should do today to help avoid and defeat legal challenges and work comp claims tomorrow!
