A New Brand for the IMA!

One year ago, the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association began a rebranding process to ensure that the IMA’s public profile appropriately reflects our role as Illinois’ most influential advocate and most effective resource for Illinois’ manufacturing sector. The IMA is a respected and powerful voice providing trusted and valuable information to help drive manufacturing growth.

The IMA advocates for nearly 4,000 member companies and facilities across Illinois ranging from small businesses to global leaders. Manufacturers employ 592,000 women and men on shop floors that produce more than $304 billion in economic output annually, the single largest share of the Gross State Product. Manufacturing matters in Illinois!

Today’s manufacturing landscape is markedly different than it was decades ago. Illinois manufacturers are diverse, sustainable, innovative, and moving forward every single day to address global challenges. Together, the IMA and our members companies are showcasing great careers available in manufacturing and proudly telling our story to build the next generation workforce.

The IMA needs a unique and modern visual identity with broad appeal to reflect modern and advanced manufacturing. With a nod to our rich 126-year legacy and eye on the future, the IMA selected DCC Marketing in Decatur to assist us with our rebranding efforts. DCC worked with us to survey and gather data from member companies, partners, and staff to guide our direction and decisions.

Last week, at our Annual Meeting, we debuted our new look for the first time.

Our new logo reflects our new promise:

The IMA’s promise is to be a trusted champion for makers across Illinois. We are a bold advocate to shape policy that helps industry grow. As a valued resource, we provide information and knowledge that elevates the industry and keeps it on the cutting edge. As a reliable partner and proactive leader, we empower 4,000 members in every corner of the state and curate a diverse 21st century workforce through best-in-class programs and training. As a unified force, we boldly move makers forward in Illinois and beyond.

Our new logo unites themes of connectivity, advocacy, leadership, and sustainability – all of which are reflections of our purpose and perception.

Finally, our new tagline is:

This tagline reflects our promise in a simple phrase and will be integral to our communications moving forward.

We are proud of our new logo, tagline, and promise. You will see them incorporated into a revamped website, communications, membership materials, and used in print and online platforms.

As always, we are grateful for your support of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association because we know that your time and treasure are limited. The IMA is stronger than ever and we look forward to continuing our partnership with you as manufacturing continues to transform our world, nation, state, communities and people for the better.
