In the coming days and weeks, Congress may act on the new United States-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade agreement that is critically important to the Illinois manufacturing sector. We need your help reaching out to members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation.
Last year, Illinois exported more than $60 billion worth of goods and services around the world. Canada and Mexico, which represent less than 4 percent of the global economy, purchased more than two-fifths of Illinois’ manufacturing exports which is more than Germany, Australia, China, Japan, and Brazil combined.
Eighty percent of Illinois exporters are small and mid-sized manufacturing companies located across the state. These companies support nearly 70,000 good-paying jobs.
Trade is important to Illinois and our state’s manufacturing sector. Please take a minute and send a letter to these members of the United States Senate and Congress who are key to passage of USMCA.
